Who we are

Sawdustify is run by Chris Rodes, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect, and why

Mailing list: your email address, to tell you about Sawdustify's launch and updates. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by joining.

Account: your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, your profile picture, so you can sign in and keep your projects. Our lawful basis is providing the service you asked for (contract).

Your projects and settings: the designs and preferences you save, so they're there next time. Same basis: providing the service.

Sign-in records: when you signed in, and the browser and IP address used, to keep your account secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping accounts safe.

Usage: which features are used, recorded in our own database with no third-party tracker or advertising, to find what to fix and improve. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in improving the app.

Feedback: whatever you choose to send us, to answer it and improve the app.

Before you sign up

You can use the editor without an account, but nothing you make is saved or sent to us until you sign in.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. To count usage, we keep a random ID in your browser's storage; it identifies the browser, not you, until you sign in. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking.

Who processes it for us

Cloudflare hosts the app and its database.

Resend keeps the mailing list and sends our emails, including sign-in links.

Google, if you choose to sign in with it, tells us your name, email address and picture.

Some of these may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.

Account, projects and settings: until you delete your account.

Sign-in records: until the session ends or expires.

Usage records: up to two years, then deleted or made anonymous.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask for it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Every email we send has a link to unsubscribe.

To use any of these rights, email hello@sawdustify.com. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and tell you by email if the change is significant.
